How long before my travel should I apply for Umrah Visa?

Visa processing and issuance is Saudi Government’s responsibility and the time it takes varies. To be on the safe side and to avoid any rush, we advise you to apply for an Umrah Visa 15 days before your planned date of departure.

Can I still apply for an Umrah Visa if I am not a UK resident?

Yes, you can apply for Umrah Visa if you are not a UK resident. But if you hold a visit visa in UK then you are not allowed to apply for Umrah Visa.

How long does my Umrah Visa stay valid for?

The validity period of Umrah Visa is 30 days.

Can I stay in Saudi Arabia for a month or more if I hold an Umrah Visa?

No, you are not allowed to stay in Saudi Arabia exceeding the time duration of 2 weeks. Violation of this will result in heavy fine. However, in Ramadan, you can stay in Saudi Arabia for the whole month and may return after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Can I work in Saudi Arabia on Umrah Visa?

No, it is illegal to work in Saudi Arabia if you hold an Umrah Visa. Violation of this will result in penalty.

Can women apply for Umrah Visa independently?

No, a woman who is not older than 45 years of age is not allowed to travel for Umrah without a Mahram. She may apply for Umrah Visa when she reaches that age and then she can travel in a group to perform Umrah.

How often can I perform Umrah in one year?

As per new rule, you are not allowed to apply for Umrah Visa if you have performed Umrah within the period of 6 months of your current application. But if you are a male member serving as a mahram then you are permitted to apply.

Do I need any immunizations before leaving for Umrah?

Yes, you need Meningococcal Meningitis vaccination before your departure to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. A vaccine certificate (not older than 3 years) must be attached with your visa application.
